Professionalism: the Torch Is in Our Hands

The perpetuation and enhancement of professionalism via respect for the fundametals of bioethics is an ongoing responsibility of every orthodontist and each health care professional. It requires strong character traits that require enduring discipline, allegiance to personal morals, and most of all, respect for the Golden Rule. Our obligation is to perpetuate the positive virtues and distinguished legacy that our orthodontic forefathers have exemplified. We need to communicate the eminent value of this behavior to those that succeed us in this profession. This lecture will explore the ways in which we can embolden our professional image and our commitment to the good of patients and colleagues alike.
