Graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Bologna on 31 March 1984. He obtained a specialization in Odontostomatology on 18 July 1989, with a score of 70/70 and honours. He is a full professor at the University of L'Aquila. He is Director of the School of Specialization in Orthodontics at the University of L'Aquila. Author of 184 scientific articles in international journals, 5 textbooks, 8 book chapters and 8 monographs. He is the Manager of the European Journal of Pediatric Dentistry.
